Casting Blessed Weapon is a great way to increase your melee damage and gain some HP regeneration.
Whether or not it’s worth using is dependent on your build.
While Blessed Weapon is certainly worth using for some players, many will find a better fit in Dark Souls 3’s large library of weapon buff spells.
We’ll explore exactly why you should or shouldn’t use Blessed Weapon down below.
Blessed Weapon is a Miracle that requires 15 Faith to use. It buffs any non-elemental melee weapon by increasing its Physical damage by 7.5%.
While this might not seem like a lot, 7.5% becomes substantial if you’re using Strength weapons with high attack stats.
As well as buffing your weapon’s Physical damage, Blessed Weapon also adds some passive health regeneration while it’s active. The amount it heals by is governed by your talisman’s Spell Buff stat.
If you cast Blessed Weapon using a talisman with a Spell Buff stat of 250 or higher, you’ll get the maximum amount of health regeneration – 5HP per second.
This is certainly not the main reason to use Blessed Weapon, but it’s a nice bonus that will occasionally save you.
Both of these buffs last for 45 seconds, but this can be increased by wearing rings such as the Lingering Dragoncrest Ring.
While there’s no real downside to using Blessed Weapon, it is outclassed in some aspects by other weapon buffs.
If you don’t care about the bonus health regeneration that Blessed Weapon provides, you may be better off using Carthus Flame Arc, a Pyromancy that temporarily adds Fire damage to your weapon.
The reason you may want to do this is to use the Fire damage to side-step the resistance to Physical damage that many enemies (and other players) have.
If you’re using a Miracle build, you can also get a stronger weapon buff and faster health regeneration by using two specialized Miracles instead of Blessed Weapon.
The first is Bountiful Light, which restores 7 HP per second for a minute. This Miracle is unlocked in Irina of Carim’s shop at the same time as Blessed Weapon.
To replace Blessed Weapon’s weapon buff effect, you can use Lightning Blade, a Miracle which temporarily infuses your weapon with Lightning damage for a full minute.
You can find Lightning Blade in Irithyll Dungeon.
You can buy Blessed Weapon from Irina of Carim.
To unlock it in her shop, you’ll first have to free her from the Undead Settlement sewers. Once she’s free, you’ll have to find the Braille Divine Tome of Lothric and give it to her.
Here’s how to do both:
You can find a more detailed rundown on freeing Irina of Carim in this video guide.
If you’re a character that is based heavily in melee combat, Blessed Weapon may be all you need to buff your weapon.
However, if you have enough Faith to use some stronger Miracles, you should avoid using Blessed Weapon and instead cast specialized Miracles to replace both its effects.
