Adipurush was disowned by the fans of Prabhas once the teaser came out. They openly expressed their disappointment and moved on to their wait for Spirit and Salaar. Many things changed when the release date came closer and now it is Adipurush mania everywhere. The advance bookings are on fire in Hindi and Telugu. But Adipurush is making no noise in one place, and that is Tamil Nadu.
While the Hindi and Telugu versions of Adipurush are enjoying a huge craze before the release, the Tamil version is in contrast. Adipurush has absolutely zero buzzes in Tamil Nadu, not among the audience and not even in a trade.
It was expected to improve as the release date gets nearer, but to the surprise of many it is all the same. Adipurush did not even get a great number of screens in the state, though there are no major films running at this moment. Even the allotted screens could get a meager response and only 20 percent of tickets could be sold so far.
There seem to be many reasons for this, though all speculated. Firstly, Adipurush is termed as a BJP propaganda film from the beginning, and Tamil Nadu being the staunch rival of the BJP has that reason to not entertain the film. Secondly, the Tamil audience was seen ridiculing Baahubali after its success and their Ponniyin Selvan was not a great performer in Hindi and Telugu. Many opine that this also could be the reason why Adipurush is not doing wonders at the ticket counters in Tamil Nadu.
Well, the movie is just a few hours away from hitting the screens and it has to be seen how big the numbers are going to be everywhere.
